DescriptionIncreases sales and achieves profit margins required for specific product lines and/or suppliers through effective promotion of current products, including creating literature and web content to market product lines. In collaboration with Professional Services, researches market for product lines assigned to find new products which would result in best offering based on customer demand, thereby positioning the company in a strong competitive position. Recommends appropriate products for inclusion in the product portfolio, including product expansion with existing suppliers. Works closely with Supply Chain in support of the new supplier and new product add process. Works closely with Professional Services to insure label and regulatory compliance. Works closely with Quality and Education to drive support of the companys Quality and Education program by the suppliers assigned. Negotiates the best possible pricing and develops and maintains a positive rapport with suppliers. Negotiates co-op/Marketing support, marketing allowance, and rebate programs. Negotiates exclusivity where possible and considers opportunity for private label products where appropriate and consistent with product strategy. Is responsible for promotion of product lines, working closely with the entire Marcom team and suppliers to develop ads, insure high quality web content and effective literature. Mentors rest of marketing team on product management methods and best practices to drive effective management of those suppliers not assigned to him/her. Stays current on competitors offerings and status, through related publications and market research. Maintains competitive pricing information for all assigned products. Gains and possesses expertise in assigned product lines and or suppliers; is seen as an expert by others in the organization. Assists Quality Training Specialist and supplier training resources in training Sales, Professional Services and Customer Service teams on product lines. Some travel is required Prepares a variety of reports, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree. Minimum 3-5 years progressive product line management and development experience. Minimum 3 years experience in the Nutraceuticals or Pharmaceutical industry JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with different levels of the organization, work cooperatively with customers, Sales Representatives, Professional Services and Marketing team. Must possess excellent communication skills to write advertisements for product line, develop and present training programs, and express ideas and results of research in a concise and clear manner. Is able to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and follow-up in a timely manner through excellent organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to creatively analyze problems, process information from a variety of sources, grasp new concepts, approaches or systems, and organize information logically to contribute to the creation of the catalog, determine pricing, and identify strategies to increase revenues. Must represent client company with a high level of professionalism at trade shows and to the suppliers and customers. Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently. Must be proficient in standard Microsoft applications, with excellent skills in Excel. Exposure to Access and report writing software a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work performed primarily in an office environment with occasional exposure to warehouse and distribution areas.
